William Delphos is founder and managing director of Delphos International, a specialized financial services firm that supports the international business goals of clients by tapping into the resources of more than 350 government agencies and multilateral organizations worldwide. Delphos International has successfully arranged billions of dollars in government equity, grants, loans, loan guarantees, and insurance for over 600 clients in more than 50 emerging market countries. Industries served include power, telecommunications, manufacturing, transportation, and hospitality. Delphos International has received a number of awards including the President's "E" Award for Export Service. Additionally, the company has twice shared in Project Finance Magazine's Deal of the Year Award and most recently in 2005 for AES Marzita East 1, the largest project financing in Bulgaria to date.
Prior to founding the company in 1987, William Delphos was senior vice president of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. He also held a number of positions with Gould Inc., including managing director of international operations. He is a nationally recognized speaker on the use of government resources for international business and has published numerous books on the subject. He received his MBA from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he is an Emeritus Trustee. |
